Native New Yorker, Mel Deveraux has seen fashion evolve for over four decades. Working in the apparel business for over twenty years, she constantly tried grasping experience from all ends of the industry.
Ms. Deveraux kept at her profession extensively in garment production and had incredible opportunities of being involved with fine luxury brands such as Thom Browne, Billy Reid, House of Savoia, Primo and several independent designers. One of the highlights of her dedicated career was associated with the filming of Project Runway while working at Mood Fabrics in the heart of the Garment District.
Mel's eagerness to work hard towards the love of the arts came with creating her unique individuality influenced by music, art, photography and design. A big believer in staying original with her personal style, Deveraux gives advice to women and men on how to obtain a fashion sense of their own. She is not afraid to take a chance and wear what makes her feel good regardless of criticism, Mel's non-apologetic attitude to be truthful opens conversations about gender acceptance of what is masculine and feminine. Cleverly mashing patterns and garments that others might not see as pieces collectively going together, she knows it actually does. Mel strongly believes people should always dress based on what they see and find to be beautiful.
